HHS Awards $1.1 Billion for AIDS/HIV
HHS will award $1.1 billion to provide medications and services for low-income people with HIV/AIDS in U.S. states, territories and the District of Columbia.
The majority of the funding from Part B of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Modernization Act of 2006 — $774 million — will support state AIDS Drug Assistance Programs that provide prescription drugs for patients. The programs also cover antidepressants, antimicrobials, antidiabetics and treatments for hepatitis B and C.
