Price Set to Begin Work Repealing ACA, Cutting Costs

Feb. 17, 2017

Tom Price was confirmed by the Senate as the next Secretary of HHS in a late-night vote Feb. 9 and swiftly sworn in the next day by Vice President Mike Pence.

The Senate narrowly voted to confirm Price to the post, 52 to 47, despite several delays and strong opposition from Democrats, who boycotted required hearings and raised concerns about his pharma stock purchases.
