Virginia–based Rivanna Medical received Health Canada marketing clearance for its Accuro automatic spinal navigation system for epidural and related neuroaxial anesthesia guidance.
The portable ultrasound device provides visualization of bony spinal anatomy.
It is used in combination with software that uses algorithms to interpret images and detect epidural location and depth measurements in real time.
The device received FDA clearance in 2015. It will be launched in Canada in May. — Cynthia Jessup
