Health Canada Gives Thumbs Up to Stent System

Boston Scientific’s Taxus Liberte paclitaxel-eluting coronary stent system has been approved for use in Canada.

Taxus stent systems have been studied in more than 35,000 patients in post-approval registries. Approximately 4 million Taxus stents have been implanted worldwide, Boston Scientific said.

The stent is available in several markets, including Europe, and is awaiting FDA approval.
