UK Introduces Standard Contract for Device Trials

A model clinical investigation agreement drawn up by the UK Department of Health and the Association of the British Healthcare Industries should make it easier to start device trials in the UK and cut through the red tape. The model agreement may be used for all industry-sponsored device trials in National Health Service (NHS) hospitals, including postmarketing studies. Before, sponsors had to conduct site-by-site reviews and draw up local legal agreements before starting a trial, the Department of Health says in a statement.
