Synthes Executives Plead Guilty, Company Faces Court Date

Three of four Synthes officials charged in connection with off-label promotion and illegal clinical trials of a bone void filler pleaded guilty last week to a misdemeanor of introducing misbranded Norian XR into interstate commerce. As part of separate plea agreements, Michael Huggins and John Walsh entered their guilty pleas July 20 in federal court in Philadelphia and Thomas Higgins pleaded guilty Thursday. A plea agreement hearing for Richard Bohner is set for Aug. 13, according to the court clerk’s office.
