Purdue Pharma Files Lawsuits Over Generic OxyContin

Purdue Pharma has filed a patent-infringement suit against Ranbaxy, Actavis Elizabeth and Mylan Pharmaceuticals after the companies submitted applications to market a generic version of the painkiller OxyContin. The three generic-drug makers’ ANDAs to market generic OxyContin (oxycodone HCl) would infringe Purdue’s ’799, ’800 and ’072 patents on the drug, Purdue says in its complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
