Laser Firms Get FDA Warnings Due to Website Claims, Procedural Flaws

Online claims that overstated the medical benefits of infrared lasers for home use landed three devicemakers in hot water with the FDA. Medical Quant USA received a warning letter Jan. 9 stemming from an inspection of its Solon, Ohio, plant ending Sept. 2, 2011. The company’s products are indicated for temporary relief of minor muscle and joint pain, and to improve circulation.
