Task Force to Tackle Antibiotic Resistance

The FDA is creating a task force to support development of new antibacterial drugs. The Antibacterial Drug Development Task Force (ADDTF) will consist of 19 multidisciplinary scientists and clinicians from the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research who will use novel methods, along with existing collaborations, to spur development of new antibacterials. The task force will also identify issues related to unmet medical needs for development of these drugs and evaluate existing FDA guidelines.
