EU, Israel Could Ease Trade Barriers

October 25, 2012
The International Trade Committee last month narrowly endorsed a mutual recognition deal that would allow EU-certified medicines to be exported to Israel and vice-versa without requiring additional certification for the importing country. The agreement on conformity assessment and acceptance (ACAA) would remove barriers to trade, cut manufacturers’ costs and enable products to hit the market faster. But it won’t apply for advanced therapy products, blood products or other special drug products based on human tissues and cells.
