China Cuts Cancer Drug Prices

October 26, 2012
China’s National Development and Reform Commission reduced the prices of 95 anti-tumor drugs by an average of 17 percent. The new prices, which take effect Oct. 8, are intended to encourage the production and supply of relatively inexpensive drugs. Affected are drugs for treating the immune system and blood cancers. The changes were based on a cost-price survey, expert opinion and stakeholder comments.
