Expert: Devices Remain Vulnerable to Software Virus, Malware Threats

The medical device industry remains largely unprepared for the risk posed to technology by malware and computer viruses, one computer security expert says. Kevin Fu, an associate professor in the computer science department at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, raised the alarm during a recent meeting of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Information Security and Privacy Advisory Board.
