Updated EU Distribution Guidelines Push Internal Audits

Independent assessments of a company’s adherence to good distribution practices (GDPs) are no substitute for good internal audits, according to revised EU GDP guidelines. The recently issued guidelines, which go into effect in September, include new requirements for maintaining safe and orderly supply chain flows of pharma products. The guidelines aim to tighten distributors’ quality and risk management systems and ensure adequate training in GDP principles.
