Increased Pharmacovigilance Focus of New Public-Private Databases

March 13, 2013
The PROTECT project, a public-private partnership coordinated by the European Medicines Agency, has launched two databases offering access to resources for pharmacovigilance activities and pharmacoepidemiological studies. Currently available to 17 EU countries, the Drug Consumption Database (DCD) will serve as a source of comprehensive, structured information on drug utilization in Europe. The data is compiled from both outpatient and inpatient healthcare settings.
