FDA Advisors to Assess Effectiveness of Agency’s Risk Communications

January 2, 2014
The FDA’s Risk Communications Advisory Committee will meet next month to discuss the effectiveness of the agency’s risk communications, a Federal Register notice states.

The meeting, which will take place Feb. 3 and 4 at the FDA’s White Oak, Md., campus, will touch on methods for identifying the impact and increasing the reach of communications on topics of interest to consumers, ways the FDA can evaluate whether its consumer updates are reaching the intended target populations and whether those same updates are helping to increase awareness and understanding of risks.

Background materials will be available at least two business days before the meeting. A webcast will be available for interested parties unable to attend in person, according to the notice.
