Qiagen Launches Next-Generation Sequencing Products

Qiagen Wednesday announced the launch of innovative products aimed at enhancing the flow of next-generation sequencing, sample preparation and bioinformatics. The products will support any NGS platform and allow processing of even the most difficult samples, seamlessly integrating analysis and interpretation of sequencing data, the company said.

“Our leading capabilities in sample and assay technologies provide new dimensions of quality for sample collection and isolation and for what is known in NGS workflows as sample preparation,” said Qiagen CEO Peer Schatz.

Among the new products are the GeneRead DNA FFPE Kit, which purifies DNA from formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections and eliminates formalin and cytosine deamination, and the Repli-g WTA Single Cell Kit and Repli-g Cell WGA & WTA Kit, which allows for transcriptomic NGS analysis from single cells and comparative genomic and transcriptomic analysis from the same sample. Both products are available now.

During the second quarter, Qiagen plans to launch the Exosome sample-preparation kits for use in processing nucleic acids from exosomes to detect gene mutations in blood, urine and cerebrospinal fluid without a tissue biopsy. — Lena Freund
