Teleflex Launches Rusch DispoLED Laryngoscope Handle

February 17, 2014

Limerick, Pa.-based Teleflex has launched its Rusch DispoLED single-use fiberoptic laryngoscope handle, giving clinicians a cost-effective way of intubating patients without the costs of cleaning, sterilizing and handling reusable handles.

The individually packaged, disposable intubation handle has a three-year shelf life and features strong construction, ergonomic grip and strong light output for optimal intubation, the company said, adding it will boost surgeons’ confidence during difficult procedures.

The Rusch DispoLED laryngoscope handle adds to the company’s existing line of disposable laryngoscopes. “We believe no one should be concerned about cross-contamination during intubation,” said Cary Vance, president of Teleflex Anesthesiology and Respiratory. “This technology is designed to help remove the financial barrier to reducing the risk of cross-contamination during intubation and focus on improving patient safety.” — Lena Freund
