Natus Medical Launches Combined Ultrasound-EMG System

October 16, 2014

Natus Medical, a producer of screening devices, on Thursday announced the worldwide launch of its Vista Ultrasound System. According to Natus, the system is the first to combine ultrasound with an electromyogram workstation, bolstering capability of the company’s UltraPro S100 EMG workstation.

The Vista system will allow for visualization of anatomic structures and landmarks in musculoskeletal and abdominal studies, complementing EMG studies and helping physicians diagnose peripheral nerve disorders, the San Carlos, Calif., company said. EMGs record electrical activity in the muscles, much as an EEG records electrical activity in the brain.

The system is available as an add-on upgrade to existing EDX and UltraPro S100 workstations and with all new workstations. — Kellen Owings
