Teva Recalling Over 19,000 Bottles of Amphetamine Tablets

August 20, 2015

Teva is voluntarily recalling 19,504 bottles of amphetamine tablets that could contain impurities, the latest in a series of recalls by the company this year.

The generics maker initiated the nationwide recall on June 24 for three lots of the 100-count bottles of dextroamphetamine saccharate, amphetamine aspartate, dextroamphetamine sulfate and amphetamine sulfate, a mixed amphetamine product. The tablets were manufactured for Teva by Forest, Va.-based Barr Laboratories.

Teva has been forced to recall its anticancer drug Adrucil twice since May after silicone rubber pieces from a filler diaphragm and fluorouracil crystals were found in vials.

The company did not comment on the recall. To read the FDA’s enforcement report, go to www.fdanews.com/08-17-15-TevaRecallPDF.pdf. — Kellen Owings
