Baxter Recalls Lot of Sodium Chloride Irrigation After Insect Complaint
February 24, 2016
Baxter International is voluntarily recalling one lot of its 0.9 percent sodium chloride irrigation following a customer complaint of particulate matter, which was found to be an insect.
The foreign material could result in complications — depending on where in the body the irrigation is used — such as an inflammatory reaction and life-threatening infections.
The recall covers product distributed in the U.S. between Nov. 12, 2015 and Jan. 11, 2016.
Baxter announced a recall last month of 11 lots of 0.9 percent sodium chloride injection due to complaints of leaking containers and particulate matter.
