HHS OIG Compiles Drug Pricing Guidances in Online Portfolio

February 27, 2017

The HHS inspector general’s office published an online portfolio of its work on drug pricing and reimbursements aimed at helping drugmakers in their compliance.

The online hub will gather together past and future reports on reimbursement policies, spending trends and data integrity, along with previously published materials on savings from extending rebates to generic drugs. The portfolio also considers the impact of bundled payments on costs for certain drugs; and compares different payment methodologies across Medicare, Medicaid and 340B programs.

In addition, the site includes guidance on HHS policies on hospital discounts, pharmaceutical manufacturer copayment coupons, federal anti-kickback statutes, and patient assistance programs, as well as issues drugmakers should consider when implementing a compliance program.
