Sommetrics Wins Health Canada Nod for Non-Invasive Sleep Apnea Device

June 23, 2017

Health Canada gave its approval to Sommetrics for their aerSleep system, a non-invasive sleep apnea treatment device.

The device is designed as a prescription for individuals with obstructive sleep apnea and applies negative external pressure to maintain an open airway during sleep.

The device is composed of a soft silicone rubber collar that fits under an individual’s chin and an “integrated silent vacuum pump.” The design allows the user to sleep in multiple positions and is less invasive than other devices that use masks and hoses.

Health Canada’s approval paves the way for Sommetrics to continue their growth with their aerSleep system.
