VIVANT MEDICAL SPONSORS INVESTIGATIONAL STUDY TO EVALUATE MICROWAVE ABLATION FOR THE TREATMENT OF LIVER TUMORS

Vivant Medical announced an ongoing investigational study to determine the effectiveness of microwave ablation for treatment of liver tumors. In the study, using Vivant's VivaWave Microwave Ablation System, which has received FDA 510(k) clearance for coagulation of soft tissue, Robert Martin, assistant professor in the department of surgery, division of surgical oncology, and Kelly McMasters, chief of division of surgical oncology, are the primary investigators in Louisville, Ky.
