ARIBA Dental Technology Gets Investment From Campbell

ARIBA X-Ray has announced that Campbell Scientific (CSI) made a strategic investment in the year-old startup to ready the NOMAD technology.

The CSI investment will be important in final development and product commercialization of NOMAD, a new entry in the dental technology industry. NOMAD is the world's first hand-held, battery-powered X-ray system for intra-oral imaging.

NOMAD weighs in around 8 lbs. and is powered by a rechargeable battery pack. Its portability makes it ideal for an office setting with multiple operatories or even for remote fieldwork. Pending FDA approval in early 2005, NOMAD will be available for sale in the U.S.
