LeMaitre Vascular Acquires Endomed

February 10, 2005

LeMaitre Vascular has acquired Endomed, a maker of endovascular stent grafts for the minimally invasive treatment of thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms.

Endomed's products are CE marked and have been sold in Europe and other international markets since 2002. Endomed's products allow surgeons to treat aortic aneurysms through a small incision in the leg rather than through invasive open surgery of the thorax or abdomen.

Endomed is one of only a limited number of companies in the world with a CE-marked stent graft for the treatment of disease in the thoracic aorta. Endomed's aorto-uni-iliac stent graft is in a Phase I clinical trial in the U.S. Endomed's products are protected by a comprehensive portfolio of U.S. and foreign patents. Financial terms of the acquisition were undisclosed.
