Esoterix Price May Hit $240 Million

One of Austin's brightest bioscience companies, Esoterix Inc., reportedly is for sale and could fetch as much as $240 million. Until recently, the privately held company -- which performs medical tests at U.S. and European labs for everything from allergies to terminal illnesses -- has been pegged as one of Austin's next initial public offerings. Since 2001, Esoterix executives have indicated they would like to take the company public.
