Bankruptcy Looming for KV If FDA Practice Continues: Lawsuit
KV Pharmaceuticals has sued the FDA to force it to stop pharmacies from compounding KV’s preterm birth drug Makena. The St. Louis-based drugmaker said it could be forced into bankruptcy within three to six months due to withering sales of Makena (hydroxyprogesterone caproate injection) — the company’s primary revenue source — unless the FDA prevents compounding pharmacies from making the drug.
