Generic Heart Drug Dosage Approved
KV Pharmaceutical has received final approval from the FDA of its ANDA to market its 50-mg strength of metoprolol succinate extended-release tablets. This product is a generic version of AstraZeneca's Toprol-XL. Metoprolol succinate extended-release tablets are indicated for the treatment of hypertension used alone or in combination with other anti-hypertensive agents for the long-term treatment of angina pectoris, as well as for the treatment of stable, symptomatic heart failure, according to the company. |
