Patent Experts, Venture Capitalists at Odds Over Impact of Prometheus
Two months after the Supreme Court’s ruling in Mayo v. Prometheus, investment dollars are still flowing into biotech initiatives, but legal experts say the real ramifications of that decision could be years away. During a recent The George Washington University School of Law-Biotechnology Industry Organization (GWU-BIO) roundtable, a group of mostly patent attorneys warned that the May 20 High Court decision could have a chilling effect on venture capital investment in biotechnology.
