AstraZeneca & Sandoz Win Wholesale Pricing Case (Pharmalot Blog)
A Kentucky appeals court tossed $30 million in verdicts against two drug makers — AstraZeneca and Sandoz — after concluding there was a lack of evidence to back claims that average wholesale prices were inflated and the state Medicaid program unfairly overpaid for medications, blogger Ed Silverman writes. At trial, attorneys for Kentucky told jurors that Sandoz published significantly inflated average wholesale prices for its drugs that bore no relationship to any prices that Sandoz actually charged its customers, Silverman adds. A similar case was made against AstraZeneca. |
