CTTI: Sponsors Not Conducting Enough Pediatric Research
The Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative (CTTI) wants sponsors to put more emphasis on pediatric clinical research and begin observing pediatric patients for longer periods. Drugmakers need to create mechanisms to observe pediatric patients as they mature, especially in safety-related outcomes, CTTI said in a new study published in Pediatrics. One option is for researchers to use medical registries and electronic medical records to follow pediatric subjects over a longer time span.
