India Cracks Down on Illegal Generic Drug Naming
India’s Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) is reminding state regulators that generic drug manufacturing licenses should be granted using the generic name of the drug only. CDSCO’s Oct. 12 notice was spurred by observations that states have been granting generic drug manufacturing licenses under the trade or brand name of the product.
