U.S. FDA Issues Final Rule on Discontinued Manufacturing Operations

Pharmaceutical companies that are the sole manufacturers of life-sustaining drugs face a new U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) rule that will require them to notify the agency six months in advance if they intend to discontinue producing the product.
