Funding for Devices, CER Included in Stimulus Bill
The U.S. House has approved a stimulus bill that includes $4.1 billion in funding that could affect devicemakers by making more money available for diagnostic devices for HIV, influenza and other diseases; biomedical research into cancer, Alzheimer’s disease and other conditions; and comparative effectiveness research of treatments, including devices. The Senate version of the stimulus bill, S. 336, has yet to be passed.
