FDA: Reports to Researchers Take 53 Employee Years Annually
Nearly 1,000 drug or biologic companies sponsoring clinical trials must each make an average of 2,306 reports per year to investigators on new observations concerning issues such as adverse reactions and safe use. The total amount of time the reports take per sponsor averages the equivalent of more than 53 employees working full time year-round, according to an FDA report.
