The number of inspections conducted by FDA auditors on behalf of CBER dropped 10 percent in fiscal 2008 for sites that produce human cells, tissues and cellular and tissue-based products (HCT/P) compared with fiscal 2007, and the auditors spent an average of 9.2 hours less per inspection.
