UK’s MHRA Adds Addiction Warning to OTC Codeine Products

Drugmakers marketing OTC drugs containing codeine and dihydrocodeine should add prominent warnings in labeling and patient information leaflets about the risk of addiction and the importance of taking the medicines no longer than three days, the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) says.
