Clinical trial sponsors testing vaccines to treat cancer should consider enrolling patients with little or no evidence of cancer because they are more likely to survive long enough to develop an anti-tumor immune response, as opposed to the conventional models that study patients with advanced metastatic disease, a new FDA draft guidance says.
