Drugmakers’ relationships with
researchers who permit their names to be used to promote products continue to come under fire from both the private and public sectors. Sen. Chuck Grassley
(R-Iowa), who has a long track record of advocating for transparency in the relationships drugmakers have with physicians and academic institutions, sent
a letter recently to 10 medical schools, inquiring
about their policies on ghostwriting and comparing the practice to plagiarism.
