FDA Debars Nurse, Investigators From Conducting Drug Studies
The FDA has permanently barred two clinical
investigators and a nurse from participation in studies to support drug product applications because of their felony convictions. Michelle Lynn Torgerson,
a nurse, and investigators Niaja Kane and Anthony Albanese were convicted in separate cases of drug-related felonies under federal law, according to the
debarment notices that prohibit them from participating in future drug trials. Torgerson was
debarred Nov. 13 when the FDA notice was published in the Federal Register. Kane’s and Albanese’s debarments
became effective Nov. 23.
