Recast of EU Late Payments Directive Doesn’t Address Industry Concerns
Devicemakers doing business in the EU may continue to have trouble collecting past-due bills from public hospitals, despite efforts to clamp down on government debt. The Internal Market Committee of the European Parliament approved amendments last month to recast the 2000 Late Payments Directive, but the amendments — which are expected to be voted on by the end of June — don’t address devicemakers’ concerns.
