Device Reprocessing Instructions Must Meet Ireland’s Regulations
Reports of difficulty in cleaning reusable medical devices have prompted the Irish Medicines Board (IMB) to issue an advisory on reprocessing and decontamination. A number of incidents have been reported in which the instructions for use and reprocessing instructions provided by manufacturers did not meet IMB requirements, according to the notice released last month. The notice advises users to report any issues relating to inadequate device instructions to the company and the IMB.
