MannKind Corp., a pharmaceutical company whose experimental insulin was denied approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, has laid off 131 employees — nearly half its workforce — at its Danbury manufacturing plant, according to documents filed with the Connecticut Department of Labor.
