U.S. Excipient Demand Could Near $2 Billion by 2015, Study Says
U.S. demand for functional excipients is expected to reach almost $2 billion by 2015, driven by generic competition and potential anti-counterfeiting uses. Demand for excipients will increase by 3.9 percent annually over the next four years, reaching $1.9 billion in 2015, as manufacturers aim to offset generic competition and production costs, according to a study by business research firm the Freedonia Group.
