FDA Appropriations Cut Under Proposed House Plan
The FDA would see its appropriations reduced by nearly 1 percent under a plan unveiled by the House Tuesday, but advocates of higher funding aren’t yet calling it a defeat. The House appropriations panel that oversees FDA funding has proposed allocating $2.481 billion for the agency in fiscal 2013 — $16 million below what it’s receiving this year and far less than what President Barack Obama has called for.
