The EU’s revised Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive includes new requirements for the recovery and recycling of medical devices. Until now, medical device makers did not have to meet any recovery or recycling targets, but beginning Aug. 13, medical devices will be subject to a recovery target of 70 percent and a recycling target of 50 percent.
