Congress Approves ‘Fiscal Cliff’ Deal, Delaying Sequestration for Two Months
The House late Tuesday approved legislation postponing automatic, across-the-board spending cuts — known as sequestration — that threatened to gum up FDA operations. The American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012, H.R. 8, now headed to President Barack Obama’s desk, extends the deadline for congressional action on a deficit reduction plan for two months — to March 27.
