FDA Open to Using Drug Data for Translational Research: Official
The FDA would like to be a part of translational research efforts to repurpose drugs but is limited by funding and staffing, agency officials say. During an Institute of Medicine workshop held June 24 to discuss the use of genomics in finding new uses for old drugs, a CDER staffer was asked what role the FDA could play in the emerging research field, considering the vast wealth of drug data to which the agency has access.
