NHS Could Save $128 Million Using Cheaper Drug to Prevent Blindness, Trial Finds
A study led by Queen’s University in Belfast has discovered that the UK’s National Health Service could save approximately $120 million per year by using Avastin, a drug not licensed to treat wet age-related macular degeneration, rather than Lucentis — a much more expensive drug from Novartis.
