Johnson & Johnson Beset by Recalls Again
Johnson & Johnson (J&J) continues to suffer from quality issues, experiencing a recent pair of high-profile recalls concerning problems with both prescription and OTC drug products. J&J’s OTC subsidiary McNeil Healthcare on Sept. 9 issued a recall of about 200,000 bottles of children’s Motrin (ibuprofen) due to potential plastic particulates. Then just two days later, J&J recalled one lot of its antipsychotic Risperdal Consta (risperidone), which a spokeswoman for the company told WDL was contaminated with mold.
